You may be considering putting trust seals on your website, but don’t know exactly what kind of trust seals you need. Do you even know what trust seals are? Trust seals are, usually small, images placed on a business website to prove that they have been verified by a third company and can be trusted. Where you aware that there are different types of trust seals? I did a bit of research and would like to share with you what I found about the different seals that are available.

A Privacy Seal, offered by companies such as Truste, verify to your customer that your privacy policies will protect their information. A business seal can be purchased when the business is verified by a third party. The third party usually verifies things such as your companies address, phone number, and email. All of these processes ensure to your customer that your company is legitimate and accurately portrayed. The third type of seal is a security seal. This seal lets your customers know that you have a secure connection (SSL) that will process their payments.

Once you decide which kind of seal you need (it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get all three!) then you need to decide which provider you want to go with. You will notice that seals vary in cost and description. There are several providers of trust seals, so the best thing you can do is compare their products and prices to determine which would suit your business best. By placing trust seals on your website, you will most likely see an increase in sales due to an increase of customer trust.

Once you have purchased your seals, the most important thing you can do is to keep them current. Make sure that the active logo appears under the seals on your website and that they are kept up to date. Otherwise, the seals are worthless.

So, consider putting privacy seals (from a provider such as Truste), business seals, or security seals on your website. You will be glad that you did!
